News: 2007 1st Place - SeekingSitters

SeekingSitters the winner of the 2007 inaugural Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award are proving to be big winners in the franchise world as well. Working Mother Magazine has named them one of the “Best Women-Owned Companies” in the U.S. for 2008. Since winning the Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award SeekingSitters has opened new franchises in San Diego, Seattle, Little Rock, and Denton County Texas.

Founded in 2004, SeekingSitters provides easy, safe babysitting solutions for families, from last minute child care to regular scheduled services.  SeekingSitters has an in-house investigation agency that provides hands on background checks of the Professional Sitters as well as all member families ensuring the safest, most enjoyable experience for all SeekingSitters clients and referred Professional Sitters. Currently, SeekingSitters has 12 franchise locations in 6 different states.

Mayor Kathy Taylor’s Tulsa Entrepreneurial Spirit Award has been created to motivate an increase in entrepreneurial endeavors in Tulsa. The award process is also designed to increase the promotion of resources available to support entrepreneurs as they grow their businesses.
