News: 25 of Tulsa's Entrepreneurs ContinueNews Release 25 OF TULSA’S 25 of Tulsa’s entrepreneurs have moved to the next round in the Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. Over 100 submissions were made to this year’s business plan competition and 25 will now submit their full business plan and have a chance to present a seven minute pitch to the panel of Spirit Award judges on July 9 and 10. After the businesses go through their seven minute pitch, judges will identify the 12 business models that will continue on to the semi-final round. The 12 semi-finalists will then be assigned a head coach that will connect them to resources and expertise to help polish their business plan and pitching techniques. Over 30 coaches will be participating in this year’s award process. “Tulsa was built on entrepreneurial spirit.” Mayor Kathy Taylor said, “New businesses have been integral to Tulsa’s history and The Mayor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award will put us in a great position to become a national center, if not a global center, for entrepreneurs to start and expand their businesses.” In November, we will be announcing Mayor Taylor’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Award winner with a check of $30,000, second place with $5,000 and third place with $2,500 each provided by SpiritBank. “The judges were definitely challenged in choosing the twenty five businesses that continued to the next round.
